Athletics and the ability to enhance one’s physical preparedness and overall performance have fascinated me ever since I was a young child. My lifelong goal from the age of three was to be an NFL football player, and from that point forward I set out to achieve it. My sophomore year in college I experienced a major setback when I was involved in a life-threatening automobile accident, and was told by doctors that I would never walk again. That adversity, along with an unwavering desire and commitment to be the best and truly go after the goals and dreams that I had set for myself, motivated me to push harder, longer and with more intensity than I ever thought possible through rehabilitation. With faith, perseverance, and determination I was able to get back to playing football and earn an opportunity to go to training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2007.
Although my playing days ended shortly after that, I knew that my life, my career and my calling were just beginning. The “non-traditional” rehabilitation, training, and research that were necessary for me to overcome the odds ended up being the biggest blessing I have experienced in my professional life. I discovered that in order to reach the pinnacle of this profession, I would need to design, develop and prove a better way of training and developing athletes. Not simply from a physical standpoint, but psychological as well.
When developing and launching Englebert Training Systems (ETS) in 2010 my goal and vision was simple; it was to provide unmatched speed, power, deceleration, energy system development, movement and performance mastery training for serious athletes who were fully committed to maximizing their genetic physical and psychological potential. In order to do that, I knew I had to create a distinct and more advanced system of training than what was currently available in the training profession.
It is crucial for every athlete to develop the basic fundamental athletic and biomechanical movements, strength techniques and deceleration protocols through a customized and ability appropriate plan in order to truly maximize their potential. At ETS every athlete will experience a next-level training atmosphere that can’t be matched and is equally focused on character development, accountability and competition as we deliver next level performance results. Every ETS athlete will leave each session understanding the physical objective for that session, but also understand the importance of consistency, dedication and commitment to ensure they are maximizing their results.
Since 2010, ETS has developed, implemented and successfully proven several unique systems of training that have delivered unmatched results for thousands of youth, high school, collegiate, professional and Olympic athletes worldwide. These systems have been created through years of extensive research by combining unique ETS methods & philosophies with specific synergistic components from other world-renowned performance specialists. The unique systems of training that ETS provides are customized and easily implemented for any athlete or client regardless of age, sport or ability level. Since 2010 ETS has produced over 40 Division 1 Athletes from the various sports; football, hockey, basketball, softball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, swimming along with hundreds of other Division 2 and Division 3 athletes.
ETS has attracted numerous professional athletes as well as drawn national and global attention for our unique performance systems. With the proven success that our athletes and clients have received and will continue to receive, it is now my mission to expand the ETS brand to a whole new level. I truly believe there is a need across the country for what we have to offer in performance training at the youth, high school, collegiate and professional levels. It is my mission and commitment to continue to deliver the ETS style of 'serious results' on a much larger scale, yet never sacrifice the quality, individualized approach and integrity of what we stand for.
